Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the teacher's education needs towards collaborative learning. The sample of the study consists of 200 teacher from Secondary and High Schools in North Cyprus. “Web based collaborative learning” questionnaire developed by Ozdamli & Bicen (2009) was used to collect data. The first phase of the questionnaire involves 9 demographic questions and second phase involves 20 likert type statements. The result of the study show that the high school teachers in TRNC need to be educated about creating videos, blogging pages, publishing their own studies, appyling web based education applications, and using wikis in their courses. Ministry of Education should give in-service training to teachers considering these needs.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, işbirlikli öğrenme yolunda öğretmenin eğitim ihtiyaçlarını araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Kuzey Kıbrıs'ta Ortaöğretim ve Liseler 200 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Özdamlı ve Bicen (2009) tarafından geliştirilen "Web tabanlı işbirlikçi öğrenme" anket verileri toplamak için kullanıldı. Anketin ilk aşaması 9 demografik soruları içeren ve ikinci aşama 20 likert tipi ifadeleri içermektedir. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı, bu ihtiyaçları göz önünde bulundurularak öğretmenlere hizmet içi eğitim vermelidir.

World states strike out the education policies in parallel with the develoment of communication technologies. Distance education concept has gained a different dimension by using Web 3.0 tools of internet instead of Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 tools.

Determination of the Views and Success Levels Towards Spreadsheets of University Students Studying With Blended Learning and E-Learning.International Journal of Learning and Teaching

Abstract

This study has been prepared with the aim of determining the views and success levels towards spreadsheet of the university students’ studying with blended education and e-learning.Two-group experimental study model was used in this study. In one group the lectures were given via e-learning technique and in the other group the blended learning study model was applied. In both groups there were 30 students. Courses were held with WordPress and variety of Web tools supported environments. In order to obtain the views of both groups in the study, pre-test and post-test surveys were used. By using data on SPSS 16.00 pocket program the arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test analyses were done. For the validity of survey’s scope and vision, 10 experts’ opinions have been taken. As a result of factor analysis, it was determined that the scale has a valid structure. In order to determine the success levels, the achievement tests were applied in both groups. Achievement tests was becoming from two questions. At the end of the research, it was determined that blended education students declared positive views towards account statements. Similarly, achievement test results were more successful than the e-learning group.

Bu araştırma, karma eğitim ve e-öğrenme ile eğitim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin hesap tablolarına yönelik görüşlerinin ve başarı düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada iki gruplu deneysel çalışma modeli kullanılmıştır. Bir grup ile e-öğrenme yöntemiyle dersler gerçekleştirilirken diğer grupla dersler karma eğitim yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Her iki grupta 30’ar öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Gerçekleştirilen dersler WordPress ortamında hazırlanan ve çeşitli Web araçlarıyla desteklenen ortamda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda karma grubu öğrencileri hesap tablolarına yönelik olumlu görüş bildirmişlerdir. Ayni şekilde başarı testi sonuçları da e-öğrenme grubuna göre daha başarılı çıkmıştır. Karma grubu öğrencileri zaman ve mekandan bağımsız öğrenme ortamları oluşturduğu ve ayrıca haftanın belirli saatlerinde yine sınıf ortamında bu bilgilerin pekiştirilmesinin olumlu görüş bildirmelerini sağladığını yapılan görüşmelerde belirtmişlerdir.

The Effect of Digital Scenario Supported Learning on the Success of Scientific Ethic and Research and Strategies of Information Inquiry (EDISSUSERESII)

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of digital scenario supported learning on the success of postgraduate students devoted to scientific ethic and research and strategies of information inquiry. The research was a quantitative study and figured according to experimental and control group pre-test and post-test research model. The courses at both groups were carried out in the way of distance education and face-to-face blended learning. In addition to that, experimental group was supported with digital scenarios. With the effect of simultaneously Big Blue Button virtual class, asynchronously recorded courses may be repeated on request by integrating on the system and with conversation panel. With the findings obtained from this research, it was concluded that there was an increase in the successes devoted to scientific research and ethic and performance grades for research report preparation of both groups but there was a significant difference in the favor of the experimental group supported with digital scenarios devoted to inquiry strategies.

Determination of Secondary School Students' Attitudes towards Tablet PC Supported Education

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the attitudes of students towards tablet supported education and its effects on its usability. The study was designed as a one-group semi-experimental model using pre-test and post-test. The study group consisted of 319 students in 6th and 9th grade studying at a private college, where 160 of the students were females and 159 of them were males. Frequency, Paired t-test and Independent t-test were applied to analyze the data. The pre-test and post-test results indicated that there were significant positive differences in students’ attitudes toward tablet supported education, students’ attitudes towards usability of the tablets in education and also in their general attitudes. There was a significant difference between the mean scores of the female and male students’ attitudes towards tablet-supported education. However, there was no significant difference between the students’ attitudes towards the usability of the tablet and in their overall attitudes.

Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to determine the effect of the attitudes of postgraduate students towards scientific research and codes of conduct, supported by digital script. This research is a quantitative study, and it has been formed according to pre-test & post-test research model of experiment and control group. In both groups, lessons were performed in the ways of distance education on the YDU-UZEM system and co-education. Besides, the experimental group was supported by digital scripts. Course materials have been shared through the system onto each group’s own page. The distance education lessons were performed simultaneously and nonsimultaneously. The simultaneous lessons were performed through Big Blue Button virtual class add-in, and nonsimultaneous lessons were performed through chatting panel and integration of the recorded lessons onto the system in order to review the lessons whenever needed. In the both groups, there are 40 (80 in total) postgraduate students from the programs of the institutions of Near East University. The groups were designated, as a result of achievement test applied as a pre-test before the study, homogeneously in accordance with their school numbers with regards to success and gender; that the ones with school numbers of which last digits are odd number are the control group, and the ones with school numbers of which last digits are even number are the experimental group. In order to collect the required data, research-directed attitude scale was used after getting required permission. The obtained data were analyzed with appropriate analyzing techniques. With the findings acquired from this research, it is concluded that there is a meaningful difference in favor of the experimental group supported by the digital scripts after examining the both groups’ attitudes towards scientific research and ethics.
