Displacement Struggle for Leader Trainers at Knowledge Stadium: An Emprical Study on TRNC

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the relationship between the leadership skills for trainers and library and information resources usage in TRNC. 11 leadership skills are categorized into three variables such as talented skills, acquired skills and cooperative skills. 274 trainers, who are special on various types of sports, had been conducted. The results according to the regression models show that the increasing library usage had been affected by both the talented skills and cooperative skills for trainers. Also, the increasing information resources usage had been affected by only cooperative skills for trainers.


Özet

Bu çalışma, antrenörlerin liderlik beceri gelişimiyle kütüphane ve bilgi kaynakları kullanımı arasındaki ilişkiyi KKTC’deki antrenörler üzerinden irdelemektedir. 11 liderlik becerisi toplamda 3 kategoride özetlenerek yapılan çalışmanın teorik boyutunda, doğuştan gelen beceriler, sonradan kazanılmış beceriler ve işbirlikçi beceriler olarak ayrılmıştır. Çeşitli spor dallarında aktif olarak görev yapan toplam 274 antrenörü kapsayan çalışmada üç tane regresyon modeli kurulmuştur. Bu modellerin sonuçlarına göre; antrenörler kütüphaneyi kullandıkça sporcularına faydalı olmak adına hem doğuştan gelen yetenekleri, hem de işbirlikçi davranma becerileri artmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, antrenörlerin bilgi kaynaklarını kullanmaları bir lider olarak işbirlikçi davranış becerilerini etkilemektedir.

Motivational sources of teachers in a developing country

Abstract

The problem sentence of this study is “What are the perceptions of teachers regarding their sources of motivation?” The descriptive research method was used in this study. Stratified sampling was applied to the overall research population of 3,063 teachers in North Cyprus, which resulted in a research sample of to a 341 teachers. A Motivational Sources Scale, prepared by the researchers, was used as the data collection tool in the research. The teachers who participated in this study stated that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations are “highly” important for them. In particular, it was observed that they consider intrinsic motivation to be more important than extrinsic motivation. As a suggestion for future teacher training, it is important to determine intrinsic motivation sources and therefore how to motivate teachers more deliberately and systematically. Furthermore, the extrinsic motivation sources that are problematic can be determined, as they affect teachers negatively and should be specified and eradicated.

Toplumsal yaşam sosyal ilişkilerden oluşur. Sosyal kelimesi latincede “socius” sözcüğünden gelmektedir ve sözlük anlamı; birlikteliktir. İnsanlar birlikte oluşlarının kaçınılmaz sonucu olarak karşılıklı bir takım ilişkilerde bulunurlar. Bu ilişkiler çok çeşitli ve karmaşıktır. Kısaca toplumsal ilişki kişiler veya guruplar arasındaki etkilenişimdir. Sosyal ilişkiyi daha yakından analiz edersek, sosyal rollerin sosyal ilişkilerin birer düzenleyici mekanizması olduğunu görürüz. Kişiler sosyal rolleri sayesinde ve içinde, birbirleriyle eylemde bulunurlar. Sosyal ilişkiler konusunda anlaşılır çözümlemeleri olan Max Weber'e göre, bir ilişkinin sosyal nitelikli olabilmesi için aşağıdaki özellikleri taşıması gerekir: 1-En az iki insan arasında olması, 2-Bir zaman süresi içinde devam etmesi, 3-En az iki kişinin birbirinden haberdar olması, 4-İlişkinin ortak bir anlam taşıması, 5-İnsanlar ilişki içinde iken karşılıklı etkileşim halinde olması, 6-Kişilerin ortak ilişkilerine kendilerinin birer öznel anlam vermeleri. Toplumsal ilişkiler niteliklerine göre insanları birleştirici veya ayırıcı özellik gösterebilirler. Özel olabilir veya özel olmayabilirler. Ekonomik veya siyasi olabilirler. Dostça veya düşmanca olabilirler. Hem fiziksel hem zihinsel boyutlara sahiptirler. İnsanlar olgunlaştıkça giderek toplumsal ilişkilerin önemini anlar ve toplumsal ilişkiler geliştikçe toplumu bir arada tutan bağlar da gelişir.

Abstract

The contemporary education systems general aim is to educate qualified individuals for changing and developing conditions of our society. For this purpose, mainly since mid twenties, new concepts and understanding have been accepted. Studies in this process shows that there are many neccesities to develop education programs according to needs for qualified man power. Education programs should involve objectives and behaviours suitable for students, organize teaching learning activities and qualified measurements and evaluation processes. Changing and developing lifestyles effects students positively and negatively in many aspects. Technological changes and otomotion reduce individuals movement levels and result in some desease mainly obesity among children. (Graham, Hale 1999). According to the results of some relevant studies about students fitness and health results in creating new physical education and health curriculum in North Cyprus (S.Ahmedov, Emiroglu, Burgul 2005). The physical education and health curriculum development commision of North Cyprus Education Ministry started to prepare new physical education and health curriculum in fall 2005. The main reason for preparing the new program was not having the detailed blueprint document for the physical education and health. During that period the Ministry of Education organized 5 different workshops in all regions with the contribution of many researchers to promote the new physical education and health curriculum. After 1 year trial period the Ministry of Education organized 2 seminars in Nicosia the capital city of North Cyprus. The small workshop groups composed by physical education and health teachers prepared their report during the seminars and contribute for the final version of the new physical education and health curriculum. The new physical education and health curriculum contains many different concepts and applications compared to the old physical education program. Mission, objectives, contents measurement and evaluation process and teaching methods are some of the different aspects of new program. The new physical education and health curriculum mainly has student centered structure instead of teacher centered methods. Outdoors sports, dance, theoretical activities and health issues are some of the changes in the new program. The informations about the opinions of physical education program needed In order to make new physical education and health program successful,. The purpose of this study is to analyze the general opinions of physical education teachers about new physical education and health curriculum, current evaluation of physical education lessons in North Cyprus education system by physical educators and to investigate the level of the application of new physical education and health program in North Cyprus. The results of these questions will help to understand the strengths and the weakness of the program, analyze the needs and the opinions of the physical educators which is the main factor that make porgram successful and finally develop the most useful physical education curriculum for students of future.
